I am glad that I have been asked to do a review on my care at the breast clinic because I would have contacted Dr. Jones anyway to say a big thank you for her care and treatment when I saw her on Tuesday 2nd February. Since I have the BRCA2 gene, I am constantly aware of the chances of the cancer returning,however,with her care I feel very confident that whatever may happen in the future,I will be looked after.

I met Ruth James a couple of weeks ago when I had to attend to have a discussion about a lump they found in my left breast. I went in there with my Grandson , who is my Wing man at the moment, really concerned and quite upset, came out of there walking on air. Ruth explained to me in great detail all about my lump being low grade, put me on Hormone tablets for 3 months and when I go back in January, if it does require an op it will be an in and out in one day. Ruth was so reassuring, she is so capable and endearing at the same time. So privileged to have met her. Many Thanks Ruth Stella Rathbone

I have been cared for by Miss Ruth James since I was first diagnosed with breast cancer 5 years ago. She has always been very kind, caring and understanding about any concerns that I have had. She has performed surgery on me 3 times and each time the outcome was very good. When I had my breast surgery she made my surgical scar very discreet and unless you know where it is it is very difficult to see. So thank you Miss James from the bottom of my heart and I am so lucky that I have been your patient

Miss James was very clear about the procedures of genetic testing and possible outcomes. The genetic possibilities were explained clearly. I felt that she listened carefully and was interested in what I had to say. I would however recommend that when explaining genetics the word partner is used instead of husband as this covers different situations
